My daughter's youngest memory is of her mother (me) standing on the bed in her underwear (poor child) trying to swat the annoying BASTARD blowfly that was disturbing our afternoon kip.
Any new, young mum (well, new, old mums too for that matter) horribly deprived of sleep for more than a year will understand the desperation for the absolute bliss only 30 minutes of undisturbed afternoon sleep brings (hell, that bliss, once achieved, is the only reason some kids have survived to tell these tales) and how the sound of a lone blowfly in a room where you are trying to sleep can drill it's way into your brain quicker than the best Ryobi has to offer.
With those years thankfully well behind us, my daughter and I often kill ourselves laughing about those times and when I saw this cartoon, I felt certain someone had drawn it especially for us...at the very least it was drawn by another sleep deprived new mum with an infestation of flies...
